Stories are abstract and difficult define, yet they hold the power to touch, move and inspire us, no matter who we are, or where we come from. At Fireteller, Story is our top value as a business and it guides everything we do. Many businesses throw around the buzzword “storytelling” but don’t fully understand what a story is at a fundamental level. Having researched this topic for over a decade, we understand that stories are more than just a sequence of events or a surprise catharsis. We are storytelling animals; we are constantly telling, re-telling and absorbing stories. eCourse

Coming later in 2022, our practical ecourse takes students on a quest to understand and tell stories on a primal level. Beginning with an exploration into what a story is and why we tell them, students then learn about the building blocks of story, characters and plot. The course covers topics of anthropology, psychology, story theory and practical application. We introduce two unique tools - the Value Map and the Story Journey - that help storytellers plot out their story in a clear, emotional, and profound way. Drawing on work of the most renown story theorists and teachers, the course is packed with fascinating information and powerful tools.

Coming in 2023, our book explores the fundamental concepts of story and teaches the reader how to build a story from the core out., Many writers snub structure in favour of boundless creativity, but this guide encourages storytellers of all mediums to find a middle ground and to embrace writing from the primal level.

Our podcast Not My Genre: The Fireteller Film Review examines popular films from new releases to old classics.
